It seems such a long time ago that we were only a small group of five foreign staff, who were so warmly welcomed to Ningbo last August. Our mission was to build a brand new International School within Xiaoshi, draft all policies and create a curriculum, which would allow for not only Cambridge Authorisation as an examination centre in two months but full IB Authorisation in eight months.
似乎不久之前，我们还是一个只有五名外教的小团队，在“热情”的八月来到同样热情的效实。我们这个小团队的使命便是与宁波效实中学一起打造一个全新的效实国际中心，起草所有的规章制度并创建一个全新的课程体系。我们的目标是在两个月内得到剑桥大学国际考试委员会的授权，同时在八个月内得到国际文凭组织的正式授权。
In a truly unforgettable year, we worked with our new Chinese colleagues, students and parents, to build our new school. It turned into an amazing journey for all of us.
在这任重而道远的一年中，我们和效实国际中学的中方同仁们，学生们和家长们一起，胼手胝足，白手起家，一起去建设我们全新的效实国际中心。事实证明，这是一段令我们所有人都难以忘怀的奇妙征程。
This year we are delighted to be joined by our new foreign colleagues and while we have only been together for a relatively short period of time, it’s already beginning to feel like we have been working together for years.
今年，我们非常高兴地又迎来了五位新的外方同事。虽然我们一起工作的时间还很短暂，然而我们已然觉得彼此之间已经合作了很多年。
I am happy to be able to officially refer to the International Centre Xiaoshi High School, as an IB World School and now to be able to tell how well our first cohort of students did in the summer IGCSE examinations.

They had to be focused from the beginning, as the IGCSE course normally covers two years but we run the programme over eight months. So it is not easy to attain good grades unless you are willing to very work hard.
一般来说，“国际中学教育普通证书”的课程要进行两年，但是我们只将这个项目进行了八个月。所以说，如今这份令人满意的成绩单背后是学生们从头至尾的刻苦学习和努力。
I am very pleased to say that the Class of 2013 out did themselves and achieved super results, with 25% of all examination entries achieving the highest grading of A*.
Of the 232 different entries, only one was a fail grade giving us 99.6 % pass rate.
An impressive 97.5 % of entries were A*-C grades, with the minimum entry to the full IB Diploma Programme being 5 ‘C’ grades.
Over half of all science entries (56%) achieved an A* grade, 32 % were A* for Additional Mathematics and English Language B raised their levels up to 23% achieving the A*-A grade.

As I said, a wonderful set of results from our students. They have now set the benchmark very high for those who follow but they have also shown that outstanding grades are very achievable, if students are not only willing to work hard but to listen to their teachers and follow the advice of our team of highly experienced educators. So, for the Pre Diploma group, the challenge to do even better is there for them to accept.

Our first IB cohort have settled into the full Diploma Course very well, making excellent progress and I am sure that they will thoroughly enjoying the challenges ahead, as they strive to fulfill their potential over the next two years.
如今，我们第一届的IB学生已经非常好地进入了正式的国际文凭课程的学习，并且取得了长足的进步。我坚信，他们将充分地享受在前方等待着他们的挑战；我也坚信，在未来的两年时间里，他们会百分之百地将他们的潜能发挥至极致，拼搏奋斗！
